I had the priveledge to meet a couple of the guys from Orlando Fire, Dante being one of them. Thanks for supporting our cause this year. We are already working for next years. I hope to make things run smoother, have more out of town teams with a 3 day tourney vs a 2 in half day(s) tourney. We are shooting for a Wednesday, Thursday, Friday game schedule playing games all 3 days all day long, that leaves us Friday to have the pub crawl and share great times with other brother firefighters. Any input would be great. Be safe brothers, Don Haun

Hello Lorne, Sorry we're not able to attend this year but we plan to return in 2010. You had mentioned before about possibly extending the tournament an extra day to include a golf tournament day/event? Also, if numbers are a problem this year is it too late to postpone until 2010 and spend the year organizing to expand the tournament? Just a thought. All the best for the holidays and 2009. "Hey Guys¿ Thanks for all the emails and I'm glad everyone is looking forward to our tournament I was getting a little worried with the current economy. A lot of people have been inquiring about the Host Hotel. As many know, this is a charity event so we hope that you support those who support us. The Orlando Sheraton has been working with us from day one and a big supporter of our Tournament and Charity. Above you will find a web link to assist you in reserving your rooms. The committee has decided to reduce the entry fee by $100.00 for those teams staying at the host hotel. We have some great events in the works and the host hotel will be the hub for these events. We are planning a Pool Party along with our Poker Night and our Awards Banquet. All of our events assist the team in raising money and off setting cost of the running of the tournament. Please support those who support us and stay at our 4 star hotel which is just blocks from the rink.

"OK" guys we are heading into the home stretch, the tournament is right around the corner. After many many hours I have completed the schedule, I tried to accomadate as many of the request as I could in the order I recieved them. It will be posted on the 7th. Although it is not in concrete I do not want to make any changes. I tried to be as fair as I could with the times. We are having a Welcoming Party slash NCAA Championship party at our Union Hall on Monday the 7th, we will have some food and drink specials available along with some big screen TV's to watch the game and poker tables available. We are having the poker night on Wednesday at the hotel. Same as last year Food,Drink and cards. We made some changes there will be a cash payout and it will be 50% of the entry fee no exception, no gifts. PLEASE contact the hotel and reserve your rooms, we have more teams than ever and less rooms booked. Please support those whose support us and stay at the host hotel, this is the hub of our tournament and only blocks from the rink. Contact Raquel she is excited to have us back Thanks for all the support. Lorne

Hi! I wanted to let everyone know that this year we are adding a great addition to the hockey tournament: The Public Safety Ice Hockey Tournament Charity Auction! This is an online auction that will help raise money in conjunction with the ice hockey tournament. The auction will be opening on October 29th thru November 16th, but you can still register and place a "watch" on items now. The items range from vacation getaways, airline tickets, hotel stays, amusement park tickets, golf outings, dining gift certificates and much more! If you are considering bringing your family in with you this year, you will definitely find something worthwhile. Even if you are traveling solo, there are still many great deals on the online auction so take a look. The website address is: http://mdaorlandob.cmarket.com. We will be adding new items daily so don't forget to keep looking. Please also spread the word to everyone you think might be interested. We look forward to seeing you in January! Have a safe trip! The committee is throwing around the idea of having a tournament within a tournament to crown the best "A" Division Team. We need to field 8 "A" teams and run that division as a double elimination. We would still guarantee 4 games but the winner would take home the title. To make this work we need 8 "A" teams. Right now we have 5 committed. FDNY, NYPD, Boston Fire, Winnipeg Fire "Smokies" and our defending 2007 Champs The Winnipeg Fire "Young Guns". This is in the infant stages but we know we can make it work if we have 8 teams in the "A" so if you know any teams please pass the word. Thanks, Lorne

The tournament is going great, We have 3 spots in the "A" and 1 in the "B" left. I am holding a few spots in the lower divisions for teams that have expressed or shown interest by participating in the past or contact me to hold a spot but have not paid. If you are still interested please email me as soon as possible. I have been fielding calls all week about our tournament and available spots.. But I feel obligated to hold spots for teams that have supported our tournament. So please email or call me if interested and get that payment in the mail. As you know bills need to be paid. Also, if you have paid your deposit your payment in full is due. I also have players that have no teams, if you need players get with me and I will get you there contact. If you want to travel and your team can't make it, get with me and I will get you on a team.
