The Guns took the lead with less than 1 minute to go, and at 1.8 seconds left the hoses won the face-off in the offensive zone and scored on a one-timer from the left wing, tying the game up. The hoses went on to win the game in overtime. The final score was Hoses 5 - Guns 4.

Florida Firefighters' Olympics
2005 -
We placed second in the firefighter olympics. Great job guys!
2004 -
After a devastating loss in the gold medal round of 2003, the Central Florida Firefighters take the ice to attempt to regain the gold lost in 2003 to Lee County. First up was Pembrooke Pines Fire. Central Florida breezed through to a 10-2 victory. Our next game was against mighty Miami-Dade, who crushed their first opponents. We skated to a 4-1 victory. On the second day of the competition, CFFFH was matched up against defending gold medal winners Lee County. The stage was set for a great rematch. CFFFH skated to a 6-0 victory, the game was never close. We then went into the gold medal round against Miami-Dade, who were coming out of the losers bracket looking for revenge for an earlier loss. This was not to happen. After giving a goal early in the 1st period, CFFFH skated to a commanding lead, winning the gold for the second time in four seasons. The final score was 6-1.
2003 -
After going undefeated in the medal rounds, CFFFH met arch rivals Lee County Fire. After taking a commanding lead (5-1) in the first 2 periods, we fell apart in the third period. Lee County stormed back winning 6-5, and stealing the gold medal from the 2002 defending champions. CFFFH, took home the silver medal.
2002 -
After a disappointing early ejection in 2001, CFFFH was looking to prove that they had what it takes to be Florida's premier Firefighter hockey club. This task was not going to be easy. The first challenge was against Brevard County, which we defeated 7-1. Next it was on to Tampa, who knocked us out of the tournament the first year in an overtime shoot-out. This was not to be our day, as Tampa defeated us, even though we out-shot the 3-1. This sent us into the losers bracket, with a demanding 4 game schedule, to make it to the medal round. CFFFH was outstanding, winning all of our remaining games. This brought on the Central Florida vs. Tampa rematch. The stage was set, and both teams played their hearts out. We came away with the victory and our first Olympic gold medal.
2001 -
The Olympics add ice hockey to their 2001 schedule of events. CFFFH is excited, being the first organized hockey team (public safety) in Florida. We have pushed the committee to add our great sport since 1997, and it is finally here! CFFFH hit the ice for the first game of the tournament, and we should have known when our pro style jerseys were held up in shipping and we had to wear roller hockey mesh jerseys, that this was not going to be a great tournament for us. We survived our first game with an overtime victory over Pinellas County, but it was all downhill from there. CFFFH tried to regroup after a near loss, when we met Miami-Dade in our second game. Miami-Dade came out on fire, out shooting, out playing and basically dominating us 4-1. We then went to the loser's bracket and met our cross-state rivals Tampa Fire, who lost earlier to Pinellas County. It was a hard played game, one of us would move on and the other go home. The day was not to be ours. The loss came after an overtime shoot-out. We had an early departure to the event that our team worked so hard to be recognized in the state of SUN and FUN. Tampa went on to meet Miami-Dade in the gold medal match. Miami-Dade won the first gold medal in the Florida Firefighter's Olympic Ice Hockey.
